Today, on the Rebbe’s 118th birthday, 118 Jewish men in Cape Town answered the Rebbe’s call and joined together in laying Tefilin and saying the Shema, and with many of them committing to laying Tefilin every day for the duration of the National Lockdown in South Africa, and a few even taking on to actually start putting on every day.

The old St Mary’s Hospital on Buffalo Ave in Crown Heights has been shuttered since 2005, and is now being resurrected as a COVID-19 facility.
A copy of a mafteiach of the maamarim of the first four Rebbeim on the 5 Meggilos, Teffilah, Yomim Tovim, and Gemora, was recently discovered. The discovery appears to have been written by either the Rebbe Maharash, or the Rebbe Rashab, with additions written by the Friederker Rebbe.
With great sadness we report the passing of Reb Moshe Shmiel Klein OBM, a resident of Williamsburg who owned Klein’s Grocery in Crown Heights. He passed away over shabbos, the 10th of Nissan, 5780.
