In the Numbers: Chabad’s Growth in the Past 25 Years

Will Chabad survive?” asked a headline in a leading Jewish journal in the days following the passing of the Lubavitcher Rebbe in 1994. At the time there were 1,325 Chabad institutions worldwide. Twenty-five years later, the Rebbe lives on in the shluchim [emissaries] and their innovative efforts to reach and teach kindred souls from cradle to grave, to bring light and warmth and joy to every nook and cranny of the world.
