In celebration of its 25th year in western Monmouth County, NJ Chabad is focusing on the expansion of its programs for teenagers.
This past Sunday evening, the 17th of Adar, close to 100 men and women, members of the Monsey Chabad community, gathered together to honor Shimon and Devorah Kroll, Baruch Akiva and Rochel Hayman and Avraham and Devorah Hayman for their support of Yeshivas Menachem Mendel Lubavitch of Monsey.
The Chabad on Carlisle-Jewish Russian Community Centre in Melbourne, directed by Rabbi C. E. Gorelik and Rabbi Y. Sufrin, hosted two Purim functions which were attended by over 160 people.
Rabbi Bentzion and Devorah Stolik of Crown Heights, together with their young daughter Chaya Mushka, will be moving to Aspen Hill, Maryland, where they will open a Chabad House and serve the local Jewish community will all their spiritual needs.
As the sun was slowly setting, simcha rose quickly in the halls of Rabbi O’s yeshiva. Purim was in the air! As the final hunger-pangs of the fast were receding, the bochurim transformed from ‘laid-back students’ into ‘leibedika bochurim.’
With sadness we inform you of the passing of veteran Shlucha Rebbetzin Ettel Altein OBM, of Pittsburgh, PA. Rebbetzin Altein and her husband were one of the first Shluchim in the United States.

Brianna Lerman had a rare opportunity one recent weekend. The California Polytechnic State University junior traveled from S. Luis Obispo to Costa Mesa to attend the West Coast Jewish Student Summit with 250 of her peers. Long involved in the Jewish community throughout her prior schooling, Lerman enjoyed the chance to speak Hebrew, talk about Israel, and reflect on Judaism and Jewish values.
As has become a tradition in Kiev, this last week guests from all over Kiev and other cities in Ukraine gathered together in the 5 star Intercontinental Hotel to celebrate a Japanese themed Purim Party in style at a grand Purim Seudah hosted by Raphael and Devorah Rutman. Rabbis and Shluchim from different cities in Ukraine, Ambassadors, public figures, dignitaries and representatives from the local and international business communities joined together to fulfill all 4 mitzvos of the day.
