GAITHERSBURG, MD — Rabbi Chesky Tenenbaum, like his uncle before him, has pierced the “beard threshold.”
That term was coined by Germantown resident Martin Hershkowitz to describe a Department of Defense grooming regulation prohibiting military personnel from having beards.

Menorah Lighting at JRCC in Toronto
THORNHILL, ONT, Canada [CHI] — Menorah Lighting organized by the Jewish Russian Community Center, there were a few hundred people in attendance, including mayor of Toronto and Vaughn, there was a spactacular juggling fire show. Latkes and doughnuts were served and Chanukah Gelt was handed out.

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Wednesday morning, the residents of Montgomery street received a gift from the city on the first morning of Chanukah, in the form of a sanitation inspector banging hysterically on doors, threatening that he will be ticketing any resident, of the generally tidy street, who has leaves in front of their house or 18″ into the street within an hour and a half when he returns.

Thirty Menorah Topped SUVs to Spread Chanukah Light in Southern California
WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA [CHI] – Bochurim in Yeshiva Ohr Elchonon Chabad are taking on a special way to do Chanukah Mivtzoim this year. Thirty Menorah topped brand new SUVs will be shuttling Bochurim on Mivtzoim all over Southern California.
Arranged by the Shluchim in Yeshiva, each SUV was loaded up with menorahs and doughnuts to be distributed by the four Bochurim in the suvs. In addition the Shluchim hooked up over 70 menorahs on the cars of residents.
