GAITHERSBURG, MD [CHI] — Last week Chabad Lubavitch of upper Montgomery County, under the directorship of Rabbi and Mrs. Sholom Raichik and Rabbi and Mrs. Chesky Tenenbaum celebrated the completion of a new Sefer Torah that was donated by Dr. William and Marilyn Stein.

Kassam Hits IDF Base, Soldiers React by Laying Tefillin

GAZA, Israel — A late night Kassam rocket attack by Palestinian terorists in Gaza – described as the one of the worst in years – hit outside a tent where soldiers were sleeping inside an Israeli Defense Force basic training camp in Zikim, located between Gaza and Ashkelon to the north. According to reports by the Israeli daily newspaper Yediot Achronot, the Sept. 10 rocket strike injured 67 soldiers, both men and women, four seriously and seven moderately.

Tishrei with the Rebbe Volume Two, which features a brand new documentary narration in Hebrew and English, shows the events of the morning before the Rebbe's heart attack, as he enters 770. Two Israeli photographers captured the scene on film: Levi Yitzchak Freidin and Yitzchok Baron.

“This is fun,” Shloimie Werner, 10, said recently as he sawed and sawed, trying to cut off the tip of a ram's horn to make his shofar.

The complete supervisory board of the Jewish community of Frankfurt, the mayor of Frankfurt Mrs. Petra Roth and EU-Minister of the state of Hesse Mr. Volker Hoff visited Rabbi Gurevitch yesterday (Monday) in the hospital where he is recovering.

Kids learn about bees ahead of Rosh Hashanah

PEORIA IL – Shay Adler moved from Israel to the United States, but his Jewish traditions during Rosh Hashanah have not changed.

The 9-year-old, his brother Barak Adler and mother Sigalit Adler attended a beekeepers demonstration and arts and crafts event at the Agudas Achim Jewish Synagogue in Peoria on Sunday.
