What’s 59 inches tall, weighs 88.185 pounds, is 9.2 inches wide and took a month and a half to write? Yes it’s a mezuzah, probably the largest mezuzah in the world. It was written by Sofer Rabbi Zalman Michaelshvilli under the supervision of Rabbi Boaz Yurkowitz, Rov of Shikkun Chabad, Lod. The parchment is 23 inches long.
On Lag B’Omer, a flock of helicopters will take to the skies above Eretz Yisroel, with excited children who won a flight at their local Lag B’omer Parades inside. The Bardugo Media Company, the provider of the choppers, has equipped each chopper with state of the art security measures: a Sefer Chitas.
Vladimir Putin was sworn in today as Russia’s president, continuing his reign as Russia’s undisputed leader since his first election to the presidency in 2000. Attending the ceremony was Chabad Shliach and Russia’s chief Rabbi Berel Lazar, who was positioned in the front row, along with the ministers, generals and admirals of Russia’s inner circle.

A concerned Crown Heights resident sent us this photo, saying “for some odd reason, our community has been tolerating the dangerous practices of drivers of the Boro Park Bus answering phone calls as they are transporting 20 human beings in their vehicle. Every day that passes without an accident is a miracle. It is about time someone stops this dangerous activity which puts our lives in danger on a daily basis.”

A reader spotted this hate message, which follows many of its kind, on a bench in the Kingston Ave. subway station. It seems some area teenagers got bored of jumping into the tracks, and found another productive way to occupy their time.
