Over fifty people joined four shluchim in performing the Kaparot custom in Southwest Florida. Thanks to Rabbi Yossi Gansburg of Coconut Creek and Rabbi Sholom Schmerling of Venice who arranged for the chickens, the custom was able to be performed locally.

The Rebbe’s edits, in his own holy handwriting, on a Sicha of 6 Tishrei 5731, where he requested that rabbis raise the issue of “Who is a Jew” during their Yom Kippur sermons and encourage their congregants to take action.
During a joint IDF and Israeli Police operation on Saturday, September 14th, 2019, an attempt to smuggle illegal weapons was thwarted from Lebanon into Israel. The seizure was cleared for publication today.
After completing a comprehensive course on being Mesader Kiddushin throughout this past year, the shluchim on campus in Israel received certificates of completion, and are ready to officiate at weddings.
After the great success of Halikut last year, Vaad Hatmimim has launched the successful program for its second year in 16 yeshivas across America. Halikut was launched through a video shown in the participating Yeshivas, with words of encouragement to participate by Reb Yoel Kahn, and by last year’s judges Rabbis Avrohom Gerlitzky and Leibel Schapiro, as well as by Mashpia Rabbi Leima Wilhelm, and Rabbi Shmuly Avtzon who directs Halikut’s tests.

An arrest has been made in the assault on a mother of three and grandmother of 11 as she was walking on New York Ave. near Lefferts Ave. in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens on September 19th. Her assailant had punched her without warning about 5:30pm, leaving her unconscious on the sidewalk.
