The South Brooklyn Marine Terminal in Brooklyn, New York already played host last year to the monumental event – the Grand Gala Banquet of the Kinus Hashluchim. The scene is set to repeat once again itself Sunday evening. The following is a sneak peek at the crude commercial space being transformed into a gorgeous banquet hall.
On Motzai Shabbos Shluchim gathered in the Union-Bedford armory for a Melava Malka meal and general session.
Following a full day of sessions and workshops, the Shluchim sat down to dinner at the Union-Bedford armory Thursday evening. The evening ended with a Siyum Sefer Torah for Achdus Yisroel.
One of the highs of the Kinus Hashluchim is when the Pan Kloli [general pan] is read at the Ohel. On Friday, all of the Shluchim attending the Kinus signed the Pan Kloli, requesting improvement in world economy, strength to increase the number of Chabad Houses worldwide, spare us from tragedy and to take us out of Golus and bring Moshiach.
One of the main focal points of the International Kinus Hashluchim is the opportunity to innovate and grow in Shlichus. Organizers arranged dozens of sessions on many topics, ranging from innovation in outreach to dealing with abuse.
Thousands of Shluchim gathered in the Bedford-Union Armory in Crown Heights for a day of sessions on topics ranging from Chassidus to family care. They later sat down for lunch while listening to a session on Moshiach and Hakhel.
Lubavitch World Headquarters-770 was packed this morning with Shluchim who arrived for the annual Kinus. Minyanim began at daybreak, and continued on until noon, both in the main Shul downstairs and in the Rebbe’s study.
Thousands of Shluchim began making their way to Crown Heights in order to participate in the International Kinus Hashluchim. Registration took place in the JCM and Shluchim seized the opportunity to begin their trip with a visit to the Rebbes Room.
Hundreds of Shluchim from around the world have already arrived in New York for the annual Kinus Hashluchim, and many made their first stop at the Ohel.

Moishy Holtzberg, survivor of the horrific 2008 terror attack on the Chabad House in Mumbai, India, which claimed the lives of both of his parents, was accompanied by his grandparents as he registered for this year’s Kinus Hashluchim at the Jewish Children’s Museum.

In just under twelve hours the International Kinus Hashluchim will begin, with Shluchim from around the world converging on Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Organizers and volunteers have been hard at work making the final preparations ahead of this momentous event.
In the spirit of Hakhel, this year’s Kinus Banquet will feature a dynamic and inspiring new presentation. The annual guest keynote address, will be delivered this year jointly by delegates of each age-demographic that is serviced, educated and inspired by Shluchim and Shluchos around the world.
Months of preparation are culminating in this final stretch of round-the-clock hustle and bustle as the untiring Kinus staff puts the finishing touches to what will be the largest International Kinus Hashluchim ever yet.
Last week, members of Vaad Hakinus got together with representatives from the NYPD and the Mayors Office at the JCM conference room in order to plan for the upcoming International Kinus Hashluchim which will draw over 5000 people to Crown Heights.
