The room was quiet as Aharon Nazarov told his story. Injured in six previous terrorist attacks, the seventh, in October 2002, left the young Israeli soldier’s entire body burned. Travelling on the same bus as a suicide bomber, he was the only survivor.

Goldstein is Furious with Kingston Contractor

Furious with the contractor doing the construction work on Kingston Avenue, Jacob Goldstein – chairman of community board nine – fired off a letter warning the community about the treacherous conditions on Kingston and Empire. Goldstein writes that he asked the contractor to hold off working until after the parade, a request they ignored.

Cheder at the Ohel Starts Lag B’Omer Early

Cheder at the Ohel held a pre Lag’ B’omer parade today in Valley Stream, NY. With a police escort and a car playing A cappella chassidish music, the children marched from their school, down the block, holding posters describing the different mitzvots that Jews can do and posters of different Jewish seferim.
