ULY Ocean Parkway Holds 14th Annual Auction

Lubavitcher Yeshiva of Ocean Parkway’s 14th Annual Chinese Auction took place Sunday in the Beis Rivkah Ballroom in Crown Heights. Hundreds of friends and supporters turned out throughout the day, enjoying a sushi table, a sumptuous hot buffet and Viennese table, all while supporting the Yeshiva. Beis Rivka Teachers to Continue Strike

In a letter to parents, Beis Rivkah Primary Teachers in grades 1 through 3 write that they are forced to continue a work strike, which began before Pesach. Representatives for the striking teachers alleged that the administration was actively preventing the teachers from being paid by the board, a charge which was vehemently denied by a source close to the administration, who told CrownHeights.info that “nothing has changed.”

Acharon Shel Pesach is particularly associated with Moshiach and the future redemption. The Baal Shem Tov instituted the custom of partaking of a “Seudas Moshiach” on the afternoon of the last day of Passover; in addition to the Matzah eaten at “Seudas Moshiach”, the Rebbes of Chabad added the custom of drinking four cups of wine, as in the Seder held on Passover’s first days.

Shmuel and Bentzi Marcus of the 8th Day kicked off a Major League baseball game between the Miami Marlins and the New York Mets on the first day of Chol Hamoed Pesach at Marlins Stadium in Miami, Florida. The pair belted out the national anthem before the start of the game.
