Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe, fled a wartorn Europe to build up in the U.S. a virtual empire of Hassidim. From Brooklyn to Bangkok, his Chabad houses welcome Jews from all walks of life. At the height of the Six Day War, the Rebbe’s “soldiers,” disciples scurried all over Israel for his “tefillin campaign,” bringing many Jews to their heritage. Rabbis, scientists, politicians – all had the privilege of meeting or corresponding with the Rebbe. His spiritual advice, Torah knowledge, love of humanity — to many, the Rebbe was not only a guide, but a legacy.

In front of hundreds of Rabbi’s at this years annual West Coast Shluchim Convention, Mendy Pellin presented AskMosesTV. The announcement was at the banquet on Sunday night at the Chabad Running Spings resort. It was followed by a presentation sampling the expected content on the new project. The preview received a tremendous positive response by those present.

All this, a day before the ChabadTube launch of our 3rd Season of the Mendy Report.

Home Robbed Erev Shabbos

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Erev Shabbos, on Brooklyn between Montgomery St and Empire Blvd, a resident came home to find his apartment broken into and ransacked. A neighbor called Shomrim, who made sure the apartment was secure, then advised the resident to call police and file a report, which he resisted due to the fact that Shabbos was in less than 30 minutes.

Accident Injures Child

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — This morning at around 11:00am, a car accident left a few people injured, including two children. The incident took place at the intersection of President Street and New York Avenue where according to witnesses a Toyota Sedan took a red light and collided with a minivan.

Rabbi Aryeh Grifkin is survived by his wife and children YLT; Yael Rosenberger (New York), Michal Korer (Brewster, NY), Devorah Leah Sandhaus (New York), Shneur Zalman, Menachem Mendel, Chana, Esther and Nessia.

They will be sitting Shiva a 1232 Carroll St, [between New York and Nostrand Ave]..

NEW YORK, NY [CHI] — Wednesday February 6, Rosh Chodesh Adar Rishon, the Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi Yonah Metsger joined the children of the Preschool of Arts and Supporters of the Chabad Center for Jewish Discovery on West 19th St, with the initial writing of a new torah scroll called the New York Torah. The Torah is being sponsored by the Tessler family of South Africa/New York in loving memory of Asaf Tessler OBM.

Electrical Fire Causes Alarm on Motzoai Shabbos

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] – A short hour after Shabbos the residents in a home on Balfore Place called 911 after strong stench of gas filled the house. Firefighters responded and began investigating the odor.

After nearly a half an hour they managed to trace the odor to an electrical malfunction in the boiler of the house.

Outrageous Video of the Day! – “Bloomberg Time”

The Fox 5 investigative team caught the city red-handed writing parking tickets before they are supposed to. There seems to be a snafu in the system that could be responsible for tons of improper tickets being issued and literally had one neighborhood running in fear.

Bomb Scare on President Street, Friday Night

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] – Friday night at around 6:15pm, a resident on his way to Shul, noticed a small suitcase lying on the sidewalk of President Street between Albany and Troy Avenue and heard a buzzing sound coming from within it. He then approached a Police Officer posted on the corner and informed him of his suspicion.

Moments later the block filled with hundreds of Police Officers and Firefighters, all of whom staged a ‘safe area’ and evacuated the block. Mothers and young children were all forced out of their homes and into the cold due to the bomb scare.
