Bondi, Australia — A Bondi rabbi may be the latest beneficiary of an anonymous money-donating craze sweeping Japan.

Eli Feldman arrived home to a strange package on Friday night, after leading the prayers at Young Adult Chabad synagogue.

Hachnosas Safer Torah to Chabad of Ridgefield

Ridgefield, CT — This Sunday members of the Chabad of Ridgefield and Northern Fairfield County under the directorship of Rabbi Shaya and Chanah Deitsch gathered in the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum for a Siyum Safer Torah and dedication ceremony.

The Torah was donated in memory of Reb Yosef Yitzchok ben Reb Sholom Yeshaya Deitsch Z”L by his family, friends and the community.

Montreal, Canada — The Rabbinical Council of Canada, Montreal region, has elected a Lubavitch Rabbi to serve as its new President. The newly elected president is Rabbi Asher Jacobson who serves as Rabbi at the Chevra Kadisha B'nei Jacob - Beis Hazikaron Shul in Montreal.

The R.C.C. has in the past several years increased their vital role for the Montreal Jewish community. Most recent is its geirot program which is under the auspices of the Rabbinical Council of America (RCA). The council works closely with the Va’ad Ha’ir, the MK, in areas of kashrus and policy for the Montreal community, that serves over 90,000 Jewish people.
