KIEV, Ukraine – In Kiev, a wonderful union has taken place that owes its beginning to the Jewish website 'Mazl Tov'. This internet project, which is dedicated to making acquaintances and finding prospective dating partners, was introduced by the Jewish community of Dnepropetrovsk.

In this particular instance, the lucky young couple is Chaim Grinshtein of Zaparozhye and his new wife Miryam from Shostka. Both recently relocated to live in Kiev, where Chaim opened his own company and upon a friend's advice, registered with the 'Mazel Tov' website. Miryam is an artist and student in the 'STARS' youth educational program. She learned about the site at a related seminar in Moscow and signed up in hopes of forming a genuine Jewish family.

Mrs. Charlotte Rohr, a devoted mother and grandmother who nurtured a family with philanthropic interests spanning the globe, died in her hometown of Bal Harbour, Fla., on Monday after a long illness. She was 78.

Known equally for her beauty and charm, Mrs. Rohr had a disarming penchant for displaying an inordinate amount of care and attention to friends and those who came to her for advice. Those who were close to her described a regal figure with an infectious laugh who paid great attention to the details of the lives of those around her.

We've all heard the saying “you can’t have your cake and eat it too,” or better said, “you can't eat you cake and have it too.” Well Lot, it appears, had missed this lesson.

On the surface Lot seems like a real pious guy. He does everything right. He says all the right things and makes all the right moves. When the Angels show up at the gates of Sodom, Mr. Lot is right there to greet them, just like his uncle Avraham was wont to do. Much as Avraham ran towards the strangers, Lot too runs towards them. . . Avraham bowed, Lot bows.

Dr. Ira Weiss, the Rebbes Cardiologist to Speak to Shluchim

In Tishrai 1977 (5738) when the Rebbe suffered his first heart attack, Dr. Ira Weiss from Skokei, IL came to Brooklyn to treat the Rebbe. From then on a very close relationship formed between the Rebbe, the Rebbetzin and Dr. Weiss.

CrownHeights.info has learned that Dr. Weiss will be speaking to the Shluchim at this year’s convention at the Motzoai Shabbos Sessions of the Kinus Hashluchim chaired by Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky the vice chairman of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch.
