KIEV, Ukraine – In Kiev, a wonderful union has taken place that owes its beginning to the Jewish website ‘Mazl Tov’. This internet project, which is dedicated to making acquaintances and finding prospective dating partners, was introduced by the Jewish community of Dnepropetrovsk.

In this particular instance, the lucky young couple is Chaim Grinshtein of Zaparozhye and his new wife Miryam from Shostka. Both recently relocated to live in Kiev, where Chaim opened his own company and upon a friend’s advice, registered with the ‘Mazel Tov’ website. Miryam is an artist and student in the ‘STARS’ youth educational program. She learned about the site at a related seminar in Moscow and signed up in hopes of forming a genuine Jewish family.

After corresponding for half a year and meeting with one another, Chaim and Miryam understood that they had met their ideal partner. Their wedding finally took place at the Galitska Synagogue in Kiev with a traditional Chuppa. The ceremony was led by Rabbi Nochum Erentroy, who is the Chief Rabbi of Zaparozhye – Chaim’s hometown – and a Chabad Lubavitch emissary serving in the region.

“The ‘Mazl Tov’ site brings together people from different parts of the country and helps them to found a Jewish family. Now Miryam and I have found our happiness and I am confident that our children will enjoy a genuine Jewish upbringing and, in their turn, one day also have their own Jewish family,” explained the groom, Chaim Grishtein. “Thanks to this internet project, the number of observant Jews in Ukraine will likely grow with each passing year”.
