The Rebbe says:
1. The first verse of this week’s Torah portion says, “And you will command the children of Israel that they shall take for you clear olive oil, crushed, for illumination, to light a lamp continually”. Our Sages explain that there are actually three grades of olive oil and only the first grade, the pure olive oil, can be used for the Menorah.
2. In classic form, the Rebbe now points out that this law regarding the Menorah must also have pertinent repercussions for our daily lives and service to Hashem:

JERUSALEM, Israel — It is estimated that one in three young American Jews will go on a Taglit-birthright israel trip, according to Rabbi Hershey Novack of Chabad on Campus. With a $10,000 grant from a private philanthropic foundation, Novack will establish post-birthright israel programs, with the mission of empowering, “birthright israel participants to advance their engagement with Israel and Judaism upon their return to campus.”
CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — The intersection of Brooklyn Ave and Lefferts Ave has turned into a big source of income for the City yet again, as unsuspecting drivers are continuing to make the illegal right turn from Brooklyn Ave onto Lefferts Ave.
Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM then again between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM it is illegal to make that right turn. Regardless if it’s a school day or not.
