Massive Searches Underway for Missing 91 Year Old Man

UPDATE 1:51pm: The search has been terminated, the missing was found in his vehicle underwater. Baruch Dayan Hoemes.

JERSEY CITY, NJ [CHI] — At around 8:30am Mr. Zev Segal was last seen leaving the offices of WFMU, the radio station where his sons radio show is broadcasted from, on his was to Livingston, NJ and has since been missing.

Mr. Segal was last seen wearing a gray felt hat, a gray suit, tie and eye glasses. He was seen getting into his dark green 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis with New York license plates, and his trail has since gone cold. Attempts to reach him on his cell phone were not successful.

Nice Turnout at the Shiur in 770

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Tuesday night, over 150 anash and bochurim listened to a fascinating shiur on the maamer “Veata Tetzave” by Rabbi Yossi Paltiel, followed by a farbrengen, in honor of 27 Adar. The Shiur was organized by the Iggud Avreichim, a group of yungeleit in Crown Heights.

Yesterday, he celebrated his bar mitzvah by putting on tefillin and being counted in a minyan ñ the quorum of 10 Jewish men needed for public prayer services ñ for the first time in his life.

The Rebbe says:

1. The Mishnah states, “When the Hebrew month of Av begins we hold back our joy”.

The Talmud supplements the Mishnah’s statement with, “Just as when the month of Av begins we restrain our joy, so too when the month of Adar begins we increase our joy”.

2. The Rebbe now analyzes this Talmudic statement:

The Talmud’s words, “Just as when the month of Av begins we restrain our joy, so too when the month of Adar begins we increase our joy”, implies that the leading principal is the Mishnah’s clearly stated law that “during the month of Av we curtail our joy”, while the law “when the month of Adar begins we increase our joy” is only secondary.
