The April 13 event, dubbed “Mitzvahs and Music,” will be conducted by Hal France, former artistic director of the Omaha Opera and former music director of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra. Pianist Stanislav Ioudenitch and vocalist Marcelo Guzzo will perform a selection of Chasidic melodies.

“The evening will come to a spectacular end with two distinguished musical performances,” exclaimed France. “This is a great opportunity to hear two young world-class talents up close in an exciting new venue. CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — What can we expect from an organization that its name is long and not very comprehendible (Chevra Simchas Shabos VeYomtov), that is making a dinner for the first time in its history, its benefactors are not known or registered, and whos founder chanted “…people people, open your wallets, take out a dollar and give me the rest!”.

Turns out quite a bit!

OU Head chooses Kol Menachem Haggadah as pick of the Year

The following are testimonials on the new Kol Menachem Haggadah.

I write these words on the eve of Purim. At this time of year I receive, from authors and favorite bookstores, a number of new Haggados shel Pesach. I choose one for special study. There is no doubt that this year my selection will be the Kol Menachem, compiled and adapted by my dear friend Rabbi Chaim Miller with commentary and insights from the works of the late Lubavitcher Rebbe, zt”l.
