Cyclist Struck in a Hit and Run on Kingston Ave
CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Today, Sunday at around 2:30pm, a 13 year old Bochur was struck by a car while riding his bike on Kingston Avenue and Carroll Street, moments later the offending vehicle fled the scene.

This is a national holiday – otherwise known as V-Day – which pays tribute to war veterans and honors the victims of both World Wars, including both civilians and soldiers. The Jewish community of Vladivostok – a member of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia – held a gathering for its elders on this occasion.

Police Officer does nothing as Black Teen Strikes Woman, Man
CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — As residents were returning home from Shul on Motzoai Shabbos one Black teen on a bicycle assaulted a Man and later a woman along Empire Boulevard, and witnesses claim that one police officer watched part of it and did nothing.
The incident began on Brooklyn and Empire where the man was kicked by the cycling teen, who than made another pass and pulled out a large ‘box cutter’ type knife and cursed at the man he has assaulted. A police officer who was posted on that corner witnessed the incident and immediately called for backup and began giving chase after the perp who fled towards Kingston.

Tzvi Hirsh HaKohen Katz is known to many as the child who for many years asked the Ma Nishtana at the Rebbe’s Pesach Seder table. His father, Reb Yankel Katz from Chicago, was a stalwart supporter of both the Frierdiker Rebbe and the Rebbe.
Reb Yankel was one of the key supporters who funded of the Frierdiker Rebbe’s escape from the Nazis, and subsequently the Frierdiker Rebbe’s and then the Rebbe’s work in America. The Rebbe would speak with Reb Yankel Katz by telephone monthly, and called him “a true friend.”
