The largest Chanukah Dreidel in the world will once again be erected in front of the Chabad Jewish Center in Basking Ridge this holiday season.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The largest Chanukah Dreidel in the world stands proudly in front of the Chabad Jewish Center in Basking Ridge, generating stares and proud smiles from passers-by.

The Dreidel has become a local landmark during the holiday season, rising over 18 feet above the busy intersection of Valley Road and King Gorge Road.

POSTVILLE, IA — The new de facto leader of Agriprocessors Inc. said Monday that he hopes to restart production at the Postville meatpacking plant as soon as possible.

Joseph Sarachek, a New York bankruptcy lawyer, was appointed by a federal judge last week to serve as the company’s trustee. The appointment gives him effective control over the business.

Released Time Melava Malka

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Released Time had its annual melava malka at the Kollel on Motzoai Shabbos, honoring their instructors. Rabbi Shlomo Cunin, head Shliach to California, spoke about Released Time in California as it was in the “early years,” followed by Rabbi Chaim Bryski, Shliach to Thousand Oaks, California, who explained how to make the learning classes more interactive and interesting.

BREST, Belarus [FJC] — In a field at Smolyarka, located in the district Berezovsky near Brest, a new plaque in memory of victims of the Holocaust was unvieled.

According to the Chairman of the Jewish community of Brest, Boris Bruk, the monument was established at the site of a mass murder of Jews where were the prisoners of the Berezovsky ghetto. Here, in 1942, occupying Nazi forces shot more than three thousand men, women, and children.

The incident took place at around 3:15pm on New York Avenue in front of the 71st Precinct, the car was double parked and the driver opened his door after more than half the bus had already passed him and got damaged by the bus's rear tires.

In the English Colel Chabad Calendar there is a mistake with regards to when we start saying “Vten Tal U'Matar”.

On page 56 it incorrectly states that we begin saying “ותן טל ומטר” on Sunday night the 4th of Kislev, when it should be Thursday night the 8th of Kislev.

Banquet DVD Available Less than 12 Hours after!

Shluchim who were still Farbrenging in 770 at 6:00am, were shocked when JEM staff walked in the with banquet video fully produced on DVD. Last night’s historic banquet was shocker enough. The fact that the entire event was available on DVD only hours after it concluded was an even bigger shock.

The DVD runtime is 2:42 and contains the entire banquet, including the full speeches of Ambassador Yehuda Avner, Rabbi Moshe Bryski, the roll call, dancing and Tzeirei Hashluchim presentation.
