CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Hundreds of Beis Rivkah elementary and high school students paid their respects to Mrs. Menucha Lazaroff, a woman who has taught thousands of girls as a teacher and influenced boys as a camp mother in Gan Israel, NY.
The Levaya first passing by Beis Rivkah on Lefferts Avenue, where the girls stoon on the sidewalk with Tehillim’s in theirs reciting Kapitlach, then on to 770 where the high school girls did the same. Anash and Bochurim gathered there as well taking part in the Levaya.

Chabad.org Editorial Conference
BROOKLYN, NY [CHI] — Members of the editorial team of Chabad.org – the world’s leading Jewish website and the flagship site of the Chabad Lubavitch movement – gathered from across the globe last week in New York for two days of intense brainstorming and skill-building sessions.
The conference began at the Rebbe’s Ohel, where editorial team members signed and read a Pidyon Nefesh asking the Rebbe for his guidance and brachos for the team to merit to fulfill the Rebbe’s wishes of them in spreading yiddishkeit, Torah and Mitzvos and the fountains of Chassidus in the best and widest possible manner.

Gansbourg, a stout man with a silver-streaked beard and a thick Yiddish accent, is the spiritual leader of Chabad of Harlem, a one-room synagogue and community center on the ground floor of 437 Manhattan Ave. at 118th St. that he and his wife, Goldie, opened last year.

As we approach Tishrei – of a Shnas Hakhel – many families are considering sending their teenage sons and daughters (sometimes even younger) to Crown Heights for Yom Tov in order to draw from the deep well of Chabad richness – the Rebbe’s Shul, the Sukkah, the Ohel and the streets of the Schunah.

The commissioner stood on the avenue and watched for a few minutes and was approached by community residents who greeted him.

Serious Early Morning Accident Injures Two
CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Two SUV’s collided early this morning and injuring both drivers. The accident happened in the intersection of Nostrand Avenue and Sterling Street at around 4:30am.

With sadness we inform you of the passing of Mrs Menucha Vitkeh Lazaroff of Crown Heights. She will be remembered by thousands of students that she taught at Bais Rivkah and campers of Gan Yisroel, NY where she served as Camp Mother for many years. She was 92 years old.
She is survived by her children, Mrs Batsheva Shemtov (Philadelphia, PA) and Rabbi Shimon Lazaroff (Houston, TX).

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — As the sun began to set another Siyum and Hachnosas Safer Torah took place in the Zarchi’s home. The torah was dedicated in honor of R. Mordechai Gershon Ben Malya Rochel Schapiro Sheyichyu and in memory of R. Binyomin Azriel and Miriam Baila Nadav OBM and in memory of R. Avrohom Meir Hakohen Zarchi OBM.

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A year ago a terrible tragedy took the life of HaTomim Yisroel Noach Tzfasman OBM, but the family marked it with the great Simcha of the completion and dedication of a new Safer Torah. Joined in by residents and friends the new Safer Torah danced its way up Kingston Avenue to 770.

The Hammers, who were second to underdog the entire season, came out shining in the playoffs.
