Late Night Joy Ride ends in Disaster on Kingston

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A late night joy ride ended with a collision with a parked car. The incident took place at around 4:00am when the Jewish teen attempted to make a left from Montgomery Street onto Kingston Avenue but failed to recover from the turn and slammed into a parked car, causing significant damage and pushing it up onto the sidewalk.

Cousin Is Charged in Brooklyn Death

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn — A teenage girl was arrested on Wednesday in the fatal stabbing of her 16-year old cousin in her family’s apartment in Crown Heights the day before, the authorities said.

The girl, Tiana Browne, 15, of East 21st Street in Brooklyn, is being charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon in the killing of Shannon Braithwaite, the police said.

Shannon’s mother, Marva Braithwaite, discovered her daughter’s body about 4:30 p.m. near the entrance of their apartment on Empire Boulevard near Troy Avenue. When she tried to open the door, the path was blocked by her daughter’s body.
