JERUSALEM, Israel [INN] — Closed circuit video shows the attack by an Arab tractor driver last Thursday — the third of its kind in Jerusalem in a single year.
The footage shows the tractor pushing a police car it had just overturned and the near-immediate response by armed policemen and citizens, who shot the driver dead.

Purim happened in ancient Persia, present day Iraq and iran. Any connection between todays tensions in that part of the world and Purim of old?
If Yom Kippur (Yom Ha-Ki-Purim) is only similar to Purim, which implies that Purim is holier and greater than yom kippur, how is it that on Yom Kippur we fast and spend the entire day in temple, while on purim we eat, drink, and mostly have a very good time (and that’s an understatement).

DES MOINES, IA [AP] — A federal judge has rejected a motion to dismiss illegal immigration and bank fraud charges against Agriprocessors Inc. and former manager Sholom Rubashkin.
Attorneys for Rubashkin and Agriprocessors asked that the case be dismissed, claiming grand jury proceedings were tainted by improper comments about religion, race and anti-Semitism.

In order to guide and assist Shluchim and Mosdos in this regard, we have formed the Chabad-Lubavitch Security Commission (CLSC). The Commission, with the assistance of professionals who are familiar with security/anti-terror measures, will distribute relevant information to Shluchim, as well as make recommendations which can be adapted and implemented locally by Shluchim.
CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — She is a familiar face, she shoplifted from another store just a few days before and on Thursday she was at it again. An alert pharmacy employee noticed her taking a number of items and stuffing them into her backpack. She then walked over to the front counter, picked up a prescription and made for the door. As she fled the store the theft deterrent alarm went off.

Once, on Rosh Hashanah, the Alter Rebbe Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, asked his son the Miteler Rebbe to share some of the thoughts upon which he had concentrated during his Davening-prayers earlier that day.
The Mitlerer Rebbe proceeded to enumerate the various liturgical passages and Kabalistic intentions upon which he had reflected. The Miteler Rebbe then inquired of the Alter Rebbe regarding his own meditations.
Instead of the profound and lofty response for which the Miteler Rebbe was prepared, the Alter Rebbe indicated that his thoughts were focused upon his “chair and Shtender-lectern,” (a reference to the presence of the Divine within the physical).
…………………………………………………………The Rebbe of Pscizcha once turned to one of his young disciples, who was later to become the Rebbe of Kotzk, and presented the following query: “Young man, where can one find G d?” “G-d is everywhere,” replied the young scholar. “Does not His glory fill the universe?”
“Young man,” persisted the Pscizcher, “I asked you where one could find G d?” The Kotzker was quiet. “Well, if I don't know then please tell me,” he requested.
The Pscizcher then said, “Listen, young man, “G d can be found wherever he is allowed in.”

With sadness we inform you of the passing of Mrs. Lillian (Leah Rivka) Schtraks of London, England. Mrs. Schtraks was the daughter of the late Rabbi Greenhouse a”h who was the Dayan of Beis Din of London in the early 1900’s.
She is survived by her husband Mr. Sholom Schtraks and her children Menachem Schtraks, Kalman Schtraks, Ita Teller, Chana Ybgi (England) and Sara Lipsyzc (Toronto, Canada).
