CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Every seat in Kolel Menachem was taken on Thursday, when more than 100 men came to review the Halachos of Birchas Hachama.
“What is the source for the mitzvah of Birchas Hachama?” was a question fielded by Maggid Shiur, Rabbi Zalman Moshe Abrahams, among other thoughtful questions.

Multiple Injured in Late Night Accident
CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Two car collided mid-intersection at around 11:00pm on Sunday night, and injuring all the passengers in both cars, including an infant and a child.

New Round of Car Break-ins
CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Over Shabbos two cars were broken into and ransacked. The incidents took place on Carroll Street between Brooklyn and Albany Avenues, and according to the owners it could have happened from when they parked Erev Shabbos till they got to their cars next on Sunday.

All in attendance had one concern in mind: the recent escalation of beatings and rock throwing at Jewish children.
This concern was apparently not just that of the Jewish crowd, but was also expressed by the NYPD's top cop, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly, who attended the meeting, addressing the audience. Mr. Kelly said that despite the recent downturn in the economy, crime is down citywide.
