‘Destroy their Holy Sites. Kill Men, Women and Children’

The current issue of Moment magazine dedicates its “Ask the Rabbis” section to the question “How Should Jews Treat Their Arab Neighbors?”

Rabbis from various denominations offered responses, but it’s the final one — from a Chabad rabbi, Manis Friedman of the St. Paul-based Bais Chana Institute of Jewish Studies — that is likely to spark the most reaction:

I don’t believe in western morality, i.e. don’t kill civilians or children, don’t destroy holy sites, don’t fight during holiday seasons, don’t bomb cemeteries, don’t shoot until they shoot first because it is immoral.

The only way to fight a moral war is the Jewish way: Destroy their holy sites. Kill men, women and children (and cattle).

The first Israeli prime minister who declares that he will follow the Old Testament will finally bring peace to the Middle East. …

CROWN HEIGHTS — The man allegedly caught on videotape robbing an elderly woman in a Crown Heights elevator last summer was scheduled to appear Monday in Brooklyn Supreme Court for a pretrial hearing. The defendant, however, refused to appear via video, as scheduled.

Friendship Circle Celebrates Extraordinary Year

Security cameras outside Apple Drugs captures the Erev Yom Tov Hit-n-Run crash where a boy slipped into the street and had his leg run over by the rear wheels of a car.

From the footage its easy to ascertain that the offending vehicle is an older model Black BMW 5 or 7 series. The driver did not stop, but its possible he did not know he even ran the boy over.

Taxes on Livery Cabs, Unnoticed in State Budget, Go into Effect Monday

A little-noticed provision in the state budget adopted by the Legislature in April imposes a sales tax on livery car, limousine and corporate black-car trips.
