Roving Rabbis Carry Message of Judaism With Them

With the High Holy Days approaching, two young rabbis are visiting the Reno area to bring Jewish life to residents.

Rabbi Yosef Silverstein, 24, and Rabbi Shalom Cunin, 23, are in town from Brooklyn, N.Y., through the international Roving Rabbi program of Chabad, a movement within Jewish tradition.

It is the first Mikvah project of this nature in Florida with special ramps, prep rooms for the physically challenged, and hydraulic lifts, that will make the Mikvah experience pleasant and dignified for a large segment of South Florida’s Jewish population.

Rubaskin Asks to Bar Plant Workers from Testifying

DES MOINES, IA — Lawyers for an indicted Postville slaughterhouse executive asked a judge Monday to forbid the use of 32 plant workers as government witnesses because of lies they told to work in the United States illegally and pressure from federal authorities.

The former employees at Agriprocessors Inc. are included on a list of witnesses prosecutors may call in their case against former executive Sholom Rubashkin.
