Rosenbaum Offers Support to Limbaugh

Vos Iz Neias

Norman Rosenbaum

Melbourne, Australia — VIN News has learned, Prof. Norman Rosenbaum of Melbourne, Australia has reached out to conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh to offer assistance in the ongoing war of words , which Sharpton alleges that Limbaugh “erroneously” characterizes his (Sharpton’s) role in a string of violent incidents in New York in the early 90’s.

Rosenbaum, VIN readers will remember, is the crusading brother of Yankel Rosenbaum, who was murdered by black teen rioter Lemrick Nelson on the first night of the Crown Heights pogrom. Nelson was acquitted by an all-black jury despite airtight and incontrovertible evidence.

Rosenbaum is sending Limbaugh a copy of the Girgenti Report, which clearly lists Sharpton’s criminal and inciteful actions during and after the pogrom. The Report is named after its author, former New York government official Richard Girgenti, whose report many felt didn’t go far enough in condemning Sharpton.

A Believer in Heroism, to Jews’ Lasting Gratitude

The New York Times

Dr. Tina Strobos in her Westchester apartment.

The walls of Dr. Tina Strobos’s light-filled apartment here are dappled not only with paintings but also with the many plaques she has received from Jewish organizations, even though she is not Jewish.

Dr. Strobos, a sturdy 89, is honored every so often for the quietly valiant things she did almost 70 years ago as a medical student during the German occupation of the Netherlands: working with her mother, she hid more than 100 Jews who passed through their three-story rooming house in Amsterdam.

Jewish Encounters in the Wild

by Dvora Lakein – Lubavitch.com

The truth is, Michoel Harari barely knew himself. As director of Yeshiva Outdoor Adventure Camp, Rabbi Harari is used to finding himself beyond the beaten path, way beyond. But what brought him to this tiny park at the edge of Chilliwack, British Columbia was a quirky sequence of delays, changed plans, and U-turns. What he eventually found gave him a newfound appreciation for Divine Providence.

Sharpton, Rush in Riot Row

NEW YORK, NY [AP] — The Rev. Al Sharpton threatened to sue conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh for writing in a column that the civil rights leader played a role in two New York race riots.

In a column published by the Wall Street Journal today about his derailed bid to become part-owner of the St. Louis Rams, he accuses Sharpton and the Rev. Jesse Jackson of making comments that helped get him booted from a group that was trying to buy the NFL team.

Dekel Hamatian, preservation manager for the Living Archive project at Jewish Educational Media, shows Ben Federman, left, a one-inch open reel of video recordings as JEM director Rabbi Elkanah Shmotkin looks on.

Ben Federman has yet to find the recording, buried amidst miles and miles of videotape, of his five-year-old self meeting the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory. Years after the encounter, the 26-year-old N.Y.-based entrepreneur has no recollection of that day, but spurred by the knowledge that he might one day be able to relive it anew, Federman has decided to share some of his self-made fortune to make his search – and those of countless others in similar circumstances – a bit easier.

Yechidus: Did You Buy Presents for Your Wife?

Leaving the Rebbe after Tishrei was both sad and uplifting. Sad because the visitor would no longer savor the holiness of the Rebbe’s presence; uplifting because the Rebbe’s presence would follow the visitor forever after.

The Avner Institute is happy to present the following encounter that took place with Rabbi Reuven Dunin O.B.M., who shared a unique relationship with the Rebbe. It was 1973; the holidays over, Rabbi Dunim was preparing to return to the Holy Land. Quietly he took notes of his conversation after leaving the Rebbe’s room.
