NEW YORK — Last month, Bryant Park hosted the white tents and devotees of Fashion Week. This month, it’s been replaced by another temporary structure with very different guests: a large sukkah, or ceremonial hut, where Jews pray and dine in celebration of the eight-day harvest holiday of Sukkot.

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A Bochur was arrested just moments before Sukkos began Friday evening. The arrest took place following an accident he was involved in along with a friend, he was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and possession of illegal cigarettes.

Jew Attacked Shabbos Day

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A Lubavitcher Yungerman was attacked on Shabbos morning on his way to Shul. The incident unfolded when a Black man passed the Jew and intentionally bumped into him, knocking him back slightly, then attempted to punch him.

The incident took place on Troy Avenue between Carroll and President Streets, and the assailant was described as being around 25 years old with an average height and build.
