Sometimes these images make me feel CH is all about males when women are the life blood of the community.

  • The New Look Of Lubavitch is....

    Sefardim?

Where are the CH people that look Ashkinazi?

its not tznius to show pictures of woman, b4 bring your feminist arguments here, why don’t you think about it, do you want some random guy looking at pictures of you.

It is 1:17 am and I just returned home from Kingston Avenue.

    It’s a double chilul Hashem.

Let me describe what I saw.

    1. We have attracted hundreds of not frum teens, girls smoking and hanging out with their boy friends.

    2. The oblivious band is playing one Yechi and Shlita song after the other, the yellow flags are competing with each other. A handful of good-meaning parents are dancing with their young children (while their older children are roaming the dark alleys…).

I don’t know which chilul Hashem is bigger, 1 or 2.

Groups of chasidishe people with streimels, curious of how the “scene” will look this year, are chattering amongst themselves, on what “Lubavitch” looks like.

Crown St corner Kingston resembles a shuk, with the smells and smoke of Labor Day Caribbean parade. The garbage is strewn all over the street, bottles wrappers and empty bags. Plenty of the people we atracted are bying the foods and eating outside the Sukkah.

And I wonder: where is the Rebbe in all this? For the hundred or so good-meaning people we threw all caution to wind, sacrificing our children to dangerous influences, bringing the lowest of each Jewish neighborhood into our midst to roam the streets?

My conclusion: Our simchas Beis Hashoeiva had a good run. It was good while it lasted. But if you would ask the Rebbe now if he would want this continue (AS IT IS NOW)–he would answer a resounding NO.

    What do you think?

  • hello

for tishrei, lubavitchers from all over the world come to crown heights. i think that many of them come from israel and france mostly. and those r the “sefardi” guys in the pictures. but all the brown-blonde pale boys and men r the crown heightsers.
just btw, yehuda piamenta lives in crown heights?

Its all about the men, dont you know that by now=- the women are stuffed behind police barricades and G-d help you if you overstep the line!!

  • to moishe

i couldnt agree to you more, your so rite but the funny thing is that no one does somthing about it

  • Esther

    Moshe,
I couldn’t agree with you more. And I am not even lubavitch. It has always been a favorite pastime of mine to watch on chol hamoed how chabad puts on a stunning display of dancing at simchas beis hashoeva in Crown Heights. But you’re right about the kind of scene that has been attracted to your part of town… recent years have proven so shameful that even I am embarassed for the stray teens who bum around Crown Heights “after hours” smoking, drinking.. who knows what. Of course the rebbe would not be proud.. but to cut the entire celebration is a harsh thing to do, even if those elements you speak of will diminish…
    I wish I had a smart resolution..
