There is a growing tendency among the Torah world to reject technology and innovation. The rejection has reached an extremeness bordering on a Talibanesque fundamentalism, unseen throughout our history. The Levaya will take place 8:00 p.m. tonight Wednesday, February 24 at Yeshivas Ohr Elchonon Chabad, 7215 Waring Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90046. The burial will be in Israel.

Popular Seattle, Wash., caterer Leah’s Catering and the Stroum Jewish Community Center have launched a Purim-themed fundraising drive to benefit earthquake relief in Haiti.

Called “Hamentachen for Haiti,” the project, which launched on Monday, will send 100 percent of profits from the sales of the traditional jam-filled holiday cookie to the Chabad Haiti Relief Fund operated by Chabad-Lubavitch of the Dominican Republic.
