At Chayolei Tzivos Hashem’s upcoming global Yud Shvat rally, MyShliach will be the largest “base” of all the schools set to be in attendance. The MyShliach base is made up of yaldei hashluchim all over the world, who are used to being isolated in their observance of Yiddishe and Chassidishe yomim tovim. But when part of the larger MyShliach group, they are no longer alone.

CHINA — When Devorah Freundlich, 13, of Beijing, China, is not busy with her schoolwork, she’s popping cakes out of the oven in her mom’s kitchen. They are custom cakes—dolls, police trucks, snowmobiles—and the young entrepreneur is working creatively to please her delighted customers. But in less than two weeks, she’ll close shop. That’s when she hopes she’ll have reached her goal: to raise $5000.

Just after the “Blizzard of 2010” United Lubavitch Yeshiva of Ocean P’kwy held its 6th annual winter Ski camp! On the cold morning spirits were high as talmidim awaited the 7:15am ULYOP/ Hamasifta bus. The heated bus climbed it’s way over and through unplowed streets making it’s way to our home away from home the841 Ocean P’kwy. After an inspirational/ uplifting davening, day’s Tanya and a hardy breakfast the van was loaded.

Prominent Community Figures Demand Transparency

Three prominent educators in the Crown Heights community wrote an elaborate letter to the Beis Din demanding transparency in all issues relating to the psak.

Rabbis Yoel Kahan, Berel Levin, and Avrohom Gerlitzky asked in their letter to the Beis Din that since many of the issues in the recent Psak were in fact only justifying previous decisions already made, the only solution would be that this decision be submitted to a neutral Rabinic body, and they should look into the matter, and give an impartial ruling that will leave no doubt in its transparency to the entire community.
