Growing Seniors Program Making Friendships Across North America

When a group of Essex County, N.J., residents got together with their local Chabad-Lubavitch emissaries and devised a program to bring joy and companionship to the high number of seniors in their area, little did they know that they’d strike a chord among Jewish communities across North America.
In this week’s “Opening the week with the Rebbe,” in honor of the Birthday and Yahrzeit of Moshe Rabeinu we are presenting a video clip from a farbrengen which took place on the 7th Adar 5745. The Rebbe talks about the connection of this special day with the month of Adar and the holiday of Purim.

Last week, the Toronto community held an “Evening of Tribute, Honor and Inspiration” to recognize Rabbi J. Immanuel Schochet and Rebbetzin Jettie Schochet. More than 500 people attended the event held at “the BAYT” to show their gratitude to the couple for their lifetime of work.

Only in Africa will you find the ambassadors of the United States and Italy dancing to the tunes of Chassidic music together with Chabad Rabbis and African government officials. The unusual character of the dinner reflected Chabad of Africas 20 years of successful activities.
