On Motzei Shabbos, Ches Adar I, February 12, Bais Shmuel-Chabad celebrated its 3rd annual Melava Malka marking 9 years since the shul’s beginning. “What began as a Shabbos Minyan, has now grown into a community of over 500 men, women and children”, said Moshe Pinson in his opening remarks.

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — A series of explosions brought out the residents on Empire Boulevard who wondered what caused the loud noises. After 911 were called firefighters responded and determined that the explosions were caused by an electric manhole fire.

Over 1000 Attend Lecture by “Son of Hamas”
Chabad of the Conejo hosted a lecture with Mosab Hassan Yousef, author of the book “Son of Hamas”. The lecture, held at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza Hotel, draw an estimated crowd of well over a thousand people. Lines started forming over an hour before the lecture to gain entrance to the much publicized event and to pass through a security check due to the nature of the lecture.

Vaad Announces Mivtzah for Yud Alef Nissan
In Yeshivos around the world, Bochurim have started their preparations for Yud Alef Nissan 5771 – starting the 110th year since the Rebbe’s birth. The Vaad Talmidei Hatmimim has announced a Mivtza – starting 60 days before Yud Alef Nissan – of learning the Rebbe’s Maamorim, in depth and Ba’al Peh. A series of Maamarim – picked by top Mashpi’im – are being learned and memorized by Bochurim the world over as a gift for the Rebbes birthday.

Pages Stolen from the ‘Chassanims’ Siddur
Any Chosson davening Mincha on his wedding day seeks out this Siddur, its 60 years old and was used by both the Rebbe and the Frierdiker Rebbe, and the Rebbe used to give it to Chassanim to daven from at Mincha before their Chuppah. Upon inspecting the Siddur recently Rabbi Leibel Groner made a shocking discovery, a number of pages were stolen.
