Chanukah lit up Brisbane, Australia’s CBD as the Jewish community joined with friends and visitors to celebrate the first night of the eight day festival with the lighting of a six metre tall menorah in Reddacliff Place, Queen Street Mall on the evening of Tuesday 20 December.
Over 150 people celebrated the beginning of the Jewish Festival of Chanukah with the lighting of the giant menorah candelabra on Broad Street, Oxford, this past Tuesday, 20 Dec, with the Lord Mayor of Oxford, Cllr. Elise Benjamin, organised by Chabad of Oxford.

Over 200 people gathered Wednesday night adjacent to the Lincolnwood, IL Village Hall to celebrate Chanukah. The event was titled “Occupy Lincolnwood – with the light of Chanukah.” Channel 5 and Channel 7 were thinking it was a real Occupy event. Needless to say they were quite disappointed that they were duped, it was a village-wide Chanukah party.

Every now and than you get introduced to a song that just has “it..” A song that really moves, its lyrics are simple yet poignant, its message universal. These were my feelings when I heard this song for the first time. And as I looked over to the dance floor I realized I was not alone. The guests at this wedding, from all walks of life, were surging with energy as the first few bars of this song began. It was an awesome thing to behold.
