The Brooklyn Navy Yard

In 1941, in an effort to help America defeat the Nazis Ym”s, The Rebbe went to work in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, drawing wiring for the battleship USS Missouri (BB-63), and other classified military work. Long closed to the public and considered a place of mystery, the Brooklyn Navy Yard is now open to the public.

New Seminary Combines Chasidism and Art

Students at the new Tzohar Seminary for Chassidus and the Arts combine in-depth studies of Chasidic philosophy with professional artistic instruction.

Man Who Coined Term “Chabad House” Passed Away

Boruch (Dave) Berenson OBM, from the first mekuravim of Chabad in California, passed away today. He is credited for coining the term “Chabad House,” on reference to Chabad-Lubavitch outreach centers. He was also a survivor of the infamous Westwood Chabad fire, which prompted the creation of the Chabad Telethon. He was very beloved to many of the original Chabad Shluchim’s children (many today shluchim themselves) for driving them to school for many, many years.
