April Showers Bring May Vegetables at Chabad House

Things are coming up roses for a Chabad House in Suburban Chicago. NSW Chabad’s Community Garden, which began construction last month, has already developed into a full-fledged patch of 12 individual plots, 10 of which are already reserved and in the first stages of sprouting and the other two available for year-long leases.

More than 200 young adults descended upon a house in Bondi - in Sydney, Australia - for an awesome evening, celebrating the Festival of Lag Ba'omer. The event featured Bonfires, fire twirling and Australia's Top African drummer. Going late into the night, the crowd sang, ate and danced the night away.

In early May, a circuit court judge in Baltimore found Eliyahu Werdesheim, a 24-year-old member of a local Shomrim anti-crime patrol, guilty of assaulting a teenager named Corey Ausby. According to prosecutors, in 2010 Werdesheim and his brother, Avi, set upon Ausby on a residential street in Northwest Baltimore and beat him with the butt of a two-way radio. Werdesheim, for his part, claims he acted only in self-defense: Ausby was brandishing a nail-studded board, he told reporters. He now faces up to a decade behind bars.
