Just heading into the year of Bar Mitzvah, the boys of seventh grade at Lubavitcher Yeshiva-Crown St. proved that they are not too young to conquer New York City – with their sets of Lulavim and Esrogim and mobile Sukkahs.

Two Bochurim from Bal Harbour, Dovid Labkowski and Pesach Gewirtz, went on Chol Hamoed to the nearby Aventura Mall – the largest mall in Florida – to help Jews perform the Mitzvah of Lulav and Esrog. They were greeted with much enthusiasm, and over 150 people opted to partake in the Mitzvah.

This past Wednesday, Velvel Freedman – a graduate of Chabad Yeshivos – was an honored speaker at Florida’s Third District Court of Appeals after obtaining the highest score on the bar exam in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties.
Rosh Hashanah you hear the shofar. Yom Kippur you fast. Sukkos you eat in the sukkah and take the lulav-esrog. Simchas Torah you have no mitzvah. Simchas Torah, the joy of the torah, the joy of this learning that takes a lifetime, Simchas Torah has no learning. At night, we take the Torah but don’t read the Torah; we don’t even unfurl it. Simchas Torah we dance.
Each day of Chol Hamo’ed, under the auspices of the Vaad Talmidei Hatmimim Ha’olami, hundreds of Bochurim would take to the streets all over New York City, armed with mobile Sukkahs and sets of Arba Minim, looking for Jews who are willing to perform the Mitzvos of Yomtov.
Marking the final night of dancing at Simchas Beis Hashueva in Crown Heights, thousands danced till 1:00am when the music ended and the throngs of people made their way up Kingston Avenue to 770 where Tehillim and Mishna Torah was recited throughout the night.
R’ Yisroel Rubin will be sitting Shiva after the passing of his mother, Mrs. Necha Rubin, OBM, at 1535 President St. [between Albany and Troy Ave.] on Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning (Shachris at 8:00am).
He will then continue his Shiva along with his brother, R’ Yitzchok Rubin, and sister, Mrs. Rochel Mendelsohn, at 4672 Bouchette Ave. in Montreal, Canada.
A brother of the deceased, R’ Berel Neumark will be sitting Shiva at 402 E. Penn St. in Long Beach, Long Island.
