In honor of Hey Teves, Oholei Torah students enjoyed a full program from Grades Pre 1A-8, including: a Seforim Sale, an overview of the Rebbeim’s Seforim, a hands on exhibition on the history of printing, a Chinese auction and a special presentation by one of the eighth grade students who showed special Seforim with history from the holocaust.

Menorah Shines High Over Hurricane Devastation

LONG BEACH, NY — The site of much darkness wrought by Hurricane Sandy, is now much brighter. Rabbi Eli and Beila Goodman, Shluchim to Long Beach, have been able to continue to lead the rebuilding of the Jewish community, despite hundreds of families still displaced from their homes till this very day.

In honor of Hey Teves – Didan Notzach, hundreds were seen stopping by a Seforim table set up in 770 and making purchases. The Rebbe instructed that this day should be marked with the purchase new Seforim and learn from them.

BROOKLYN, NY [CHI] — Marking his own personal victory, Chaplain 1st Lt. Rabbi Menachem Mendel Stern joined in officiating the lighting of the US Army’s Menorah at the Fort Hamilton army base in Bay Ridge. The menorah which is made out of a tanks shell casings – a special story on its own – was lit by a group of Rabbis and Chaplains.

Chabad of Naples has successfully piqued the interest of the entire Jewish community by creating a unique menorah every year for the past nine years, from one made of Legos to a 30-foot aluminum structure, to a menorah filled with jellybeans. This year’s mighty menorah rose at the Village on Venetian Bay, on the second night of Chanukah.
