Diplomat Who Saved Jews Honored

On the first day of Chanukah, an historic event took place which will forever change the landscape of Boro Park as the famed 13th Avenue acquired a co-name “Raoul Wallenberg Way” honoring the great humanitarian, who saved more than 100,000 Hungarian Jews from the Nazis during World War II.

Menorah Lit at Ventura Harbor for Hanukkah Festival

It was a menorah nearly 10 times her size. Menucha Muchnik watched wide-eyed as her father, Rabbi Dov Muchnik, and Ventura County Sheriff Geoff Dean ascended in a cherry picker Sunday afternoon to light a 20-foot menorah at the Ventura Harbor.

Flames of Chanukah Kindled at McGill University

The flames of Chanukah have been kindled on the campus of McGill University once more! This time, on the first night of the eight day festival of lights 2012, Mayor Michael Appelbaum, the first Jewish mayor of Montreal, joined Chabad at McGill to light the “Official Canned Menorah” on the lower field. The Canned Menorah was built from cans of food raised through a student led food drive.
