In honor of Yud Tes Kislev girls in Beis Rivka High School enjoyed a full day of programs, arranged by students and faculty, all geared to bring Chassidus alive and easy to understand in a practical way. The students heard lectures from Shluchim and enjoyed a special ‘museum’ which was created by the 12th grade students.
This past Motzai Shabbos hundreds of men from all different Chassidusin gathered in the Ateres Golda ballroom in Boro Park for a Seudas Melava Malka and Farbrengen marking Yud Tes Kislev, which was organized by Chassidus Library and publisher Heichal Menachem.
In 1964 Zisa Ben Tzion (Sol) Lieberman OBM had written to the Rebbe about him opening a new law practice in New York City. The Rebbe wrote back and gave a blessing that the change of address be a change for the good, and connected it with Yud Tes Kislev and Chanukah. Lamplighters Yeshivah of Crown Heights is hosting the second annual “In The Glow,” a Chanukah bazaar and concert, with over 45 local vendors to showcase the talent and diversity of Jewish women in the community.

One Crown Heights Bochur came up with quite the creative innovation for his custom build car Menorah. Mendy Wolff went ahead a build his own car menorah and wired it up into his cars blinkers, the result is quite impressive!
Hundreds of women turned out Sunday night for an auction and evening of entertainment benefiting the PTA of Oholei Torah. Over 100 prizes were offered and at the conclusion of the evenings entertainment the winners were drawn. Update: Winners list added.

Today, Yud Tes Kislev “The Rosh Hashanah of Chassidism.” marks 214 years since the release of the Alter Rebbe, R. Schneur Zalman of Liadi founder of Chasidus Chabad in the year 5559 (1798). This year also marks 200 years since the Alter Rebbes Histalkus. In honor of this auspicious day, which is referred to by Chasidim as the “Holiday of Holidays”, Farbrengens are being held around the world!

What does an active, healthy synagogue look like? It can manifest itself in many ways, but at Chabad of University City, the clues are unequivocal. For this Chabad center and its members, it looks like congregants who are passionate about Torah, about learning, about God and about Judaism. One Chanukah celebration is a big deal to Rabbi Nosson Meretsky — as in 9 feet tall. That’s the size of the menorah Meretsky, 39, and his wife, Sarah Meretsky, will set up at 5 p.m. Dec. 9 in front of the State College Municipal Building. As co-directors of the Rohr Chabad Jewish Student and Community Center, serving Penn State and State College, the Meretskys stage their Hanukkah display as part of the international Chabad house network’s mission of conducting outreach programs for Jewish communities and promoting Jewish culture.
