In honor of Tes Adar, the day the Frierdiker Rebbe arrived in America, the girls of Cheder Lubavitch of Morristown and Cheder Menachem Shluchim School in New Jersey joined together for a special program.
On this day, 9 Adar II, in 1940, the previous Lubavitcher Rebbe stepped of the boat that took him from war-torn Europe onto the Piers of New York City and declared “America iz nisht andersh” (America is no different). Here too would a network of Yeshivos, Chadorim, Shuls and Chasidishe institutions be built, despite the overwhelming secularism of America’a Jewish population.
