The Israeli Minister of Agriculture, Yair Shamir, arrived in Columbia this past weekend to attend the swearing-in ceremony of President Juan Manuel Santos. While there, he visited the Chabad Center of Bogota, led by Rabbi Yehoshua Rosenfeld.

Jewish people of all backgrounds have been asking themselves what they can do for their brothers and sisters in Israel. In many communities, public rallies have been organized to demonstrate solidarity with Israel and to counter the growing anti-Semitic vitriol that is sweeping the globe.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed legislation Saturday to lower New York City’s speed limit from 30 mph to 25 mph, saying slowing down will cut down on pedestrian and motorist deaths. The new limit is expected to go into effect in three months, once the city approves its own law formalizing it.
