Regional Shabbatons Offer College Students Small Settings, Personal Touch
Chabad on Campus centers will host a total of seven regional Shabbatons this year throughout North America, and one in Europe, to unite students from various campuses by celebrating Shabbat together. Two of them have already taken place: one in Southern California two weeks ago and one in Philadelphia this past weekend.
Letter & Spirit: Infinite Good Vs. Finite Evil
In this week’s edition of Letter and Spirit, we present a unique letter written by the Rebbe in 1945, while he was still known as the Ramash and was chairman of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch. In it, the Rebbe thanks a well-known supporter for his generous contributions, and explains the difference between the infinite and unlimited effects of a good deed and the limited qualities of an evil deed, which do not have a lasting existence and are ultimately annulled. The letter was written in English through the Rebbe’s trusted secretary Rabbi Nissan Mindel, and was made available by the latter’s son-in-law, Rabbi Sholom Ber Shapiro.

Graffiti Artists Paint R’ Shlomo Lakein in Israeli Shuk
Reuters today profiled the work of graffiti artists Solomon Souza and Berel Hahn, whose murals of Jewish heroes add vibrant color to the Machane Yehudah marketplace in Jerusalem. Among those adorning the Shuk’s walls and shutters is a mural of R’ Shlomo Lakein, OBM, a Crown Heights educational pioneer who founded Yeshivas Darchei Menachem.
