Weekly Story: How Justice Brandeis Helped Save the Rebbe Rayatz

Oscar boarded the train in Boston and was joined by his brother in Springfield and they went to Washington. After dropping off their belongings in a hotel, they went to the Supreme Court building. Entering the building Oscar was immediately recognized by the receptionist who said, “Oscar it is so nice to see you, what brings you here this time?” Oscar replied, “I must see Justice Brandeis immediately.”

Weekly Letter: Na’asse Before Nishma

This week we present a letter from the Rebbe in which he explains the very fundamental principle of the na’asse before the nishma, a concept which is emphasized when learning Parshas Chukas – accepting all Mitzvos as Chukim, with Kabbolas Ol first and only afterwards studying their significance and reasoning. The letter, written originally in English, is from the archives of the Rebbe’s personal trusted secretary, Rabbi Nissan Mindel.

New Org. Fights for Religious Liberty in Education

A coalition of families, teachers, and leaders uniting Jewish communities and organizations across Brooklyn announced today the founding of Parents for Educational and Religious Liberty in Schools, or PEARLS, a non-profit organization created to educate New Yorkers about the extraordinary importance of the yeshiva school system, and to protect the right of parents to choose a religious education for their children.
