Students in Lubavitch High Schools have undertaken a new initiative – to document and share women’s stories of The Rebbe. Titled “Our Story,” this grassroots project is being done in conjunction with JEM’s “My Encounter” and over the past six weeks dozens of story’s – mostly from grandmothers, mothers and relatives – have been already been recorded.
Over the past six weeks, MyShliach brought their “Regional Shabbatons” project to three new regions, bringing together 174 yaldei hashluchim from 79 cities in five countries in a series of eight regional shabbatons for a weekend of fun, chassidishkeit and camaraderie.
As Yud Aleph Nissan is this week, I decided to share with you an email which I received from Eli Duban, one of my former students, who is in his mid twenties and lives in Issaquah, Washington, on the west coast. He is a licensed life insurance agent, however, as we will see that no matter what our parnassa (livelihood) might be, in essence we all are chassidim eager to do the Rebbe’s bidding, and the reason we live out there is to spread the light of Torah and Mitzvos.

Over a foot of thick and heavy snow greeting New Yorkers on the first day of spring, and after a steady snowfall throughout the day many residents and neighborhood merchants awoke to find that many of the avenues’ sidewalks were already plowed.
When police pulled over a car on Winthrop Street they discovered that the driver had a suspended license and when he was taken into custody they found a loaded firearm. One week earlier police seized a large quantity of drugs after executing a search warrant near Franklin Avenue.
