Hundreds of students in the Crown Heights schools marched through the neighborhood steers, carrying signs celebrating Jewish customs and activities along with marching bands, all on their way to the community-wide rally that took place in the Old Boys and Girls School Field on Troy Avenue.

Hundreds of Crown Heights residents of all ages turned out tonight, Wednesday, for the Lag Ba’omer bonfire on Kingston Avenue, in front of the George Wingate High School.
A Lag Ba’omer bonfire and celebration took place for the 33rd year running on Empire Boulevard, in the backyard of the Horowitz family home. Together, the Horowitz family and Rabbi Nachman Twerskei held their annual ‘Hadlokoh’ of a Bonfire in honor of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai.
Girls from Beis Rivka High School had a special Lag Ba’omer evening, which included a bonfire as well as a barbecue, arranged by the school administration. The event included meaningful programming for the girls, ensuring that the evening was celebrated appropriately.
This past Shabbos, the Crown Heights community hosted JLI’s Shabbat in the Heights, an annual Shabbaton, that brought Jewish men, women and families from 52 communities across the globe to the Rebbe’s Shchunah to experience Chassidic life in a personal way.
