Georgia Governor Declares State of Emergency Over Hurricane
Georgia Governor Brian Kemp on Thursday afternoon declared a state of emergency for 12 South Georgia counties ahead of the arrival of Hurricane Dorian. The counties under the alert are Brantley, Bryan, Camden, Charlton, Chatham, Effingham, Glynn, Liberty, Long, McIntosh, Pierce and Wayne.

For Tbilisi Students, this New School Year Heralds a New Building
It isn’t only a new school year for Tbilisi’s Jewish students. It’s an entirely new experience. On September 16, the first day of the Georgian school year, 107 students will sit at their shiny new desks at Or Avner Kiryat Moshe. Dedicated in May, the 40,000 square foot campus boasts side by side kindergarten and elementary buildings.

Ahead of the new school year, a giant billboard right outside Kfar Chabad features a blessing and picture of the Rebbe. The text of the blessing was in fact written by the Rebbe to students of Kfar Chabad, and now is displayed for all to see. Crown Heights Resident Mugged In East New York, All His Valuables and Yarmulka Taken
A Crown Heights father was mugged at gunpoint early Thursday afternoon while at his work in the East New York section of Brooklyn. The mugger took all his valuables, including his phone and wallet, before making the victim hand over his Yarmulka.

‘Roving Rabbis’ Report: Jewish Life in Remote Saskatchewan
It was a chilly night as we disembarked the plane at John G. Diefenbaker Airport, the winds sweeping through the endless plains. This was my third time in Saskatchewan, having previously been assigned by Chabad-Lubavitch headquarters to help out at local Chabad centers in Regina and Saskatoon for the holiday of Shavuot.
