On the following day of the horror of September 11th, 2001 a Hatzalah volunteer, who responded to the World Trade Center as the towers collapsed, penned this letter to a family member.
On the 14th anniversary of the terror attacks on September 11th Yeshiva World News released exclusive video that had never been published before, of the moments before and after the collapse of the towers.
While on his way to Kfar Chabad for his Bar Mitzvah, Zalmy Brown received an EasyJet style shoutout, with his father, Rabbi Shmuli Brown of Chabad of Liverpool Universities, hijacking the planes intercom to shout out a Mazal Tov.
Mazal Barbaś was born into a Jewish family but growing up during the post-Holocaust communist era her family was scared to tell her about it. In 2006, she first crossed the threshold of Chabad of Poland’s burgeoning Jewish community center and fell into the warm embrace of the newly minted Lubavitch emissaries Rabbi Shalom Ber and Rebbetzin Dina Stambler.
Amid the chaos and panic following the airliners slamming into the two World Trade Center towers on September 11, 2001, many men and woman answered a higher calling – instead of running away, they turned and ran towards the burning buildings in desperate attempts to rescue those trapped in the burning inferno. 22 Years Later, Part 2: Haunting 9/11 Video Captured by NYPD Helicopter Shows World Trade Center’s Twin Towers Collapse
It’s a heart-breaking bird’s eye view of New York’s worst tragedy. Years after the 9/11 attacks, the shocking and powerful 17-minute video taken by an NYPD helicopter on that fateful day remains a stark reminder of the events that took place.
The eighteenth of Elul, was an especially auspicious day this year for the Jews of the Siberian capital city of Novosibirsk. On this day two beacons of light for the Jewish nation were born: the Baal Shem Tov and the Alter Rebbe, also known as the Baal HaTanya, and on this day a brand new, state of the art Jewish Day School was inaugurated. The school, a first of its kind, will integrate special needs children under a project called “Lev”.
