As mentioned in previous articles, to give me a push to work on the Frierdiker Rebbe’s biography, I will from time to time post my draft of various chapters in his life. Being that the story of Purim koton 5687 (1927) is well-known, I chose to post the story of the beginning of that year, when the officials already stated that their goal is to arrest the Rebbe.
The Moscow Jewish community celebrated the first night of Purim, they were joined with a second celebration of a new Sefer Torah. The Sefer Torah was generously donated by Mr. Yosef Yitzchak Sandler.

Known for his boundless spirit and perpetual smile, with always an encouraging word for others, Rabbi Avrohom Shmuel Bukiet was a scholar, educator and mashpia (mentor) who served as a source of inspiration for anyone who met him. He passed away on Feb. 17 after a battle with the coronavirus. He was 70 years old.
