JEM: Apart but Together

In 1970, a group of enterprising Yeshiva students set up a broadcast of the Rebbe’s Farbrengen to be heard live in Israel. The initiative grew over the years, eventually broadcasting audio, and later video, of the Rebbe’s Farbrengens to over 600 locations around the world. These videos became the basis for a new Chabad organization in the 1980s, Jewish Educational Media (JEM).

Weekly Story: Don’t Be Fooled

This past week there were many interesting farbrengens in honor of Beis Iyar, and I listened to some of them. One of them was by Rabbi Akiva Wagner, may he speedily have a complete refuah, (and it can be heard on Youtube). I decided to rewrite a few of the interesting points that he mentioned, and obviously listening to it in its entirety, will be a much more rewarding experience.

This social distancing porch pirate has been active in Crown Heights since before Pesach. If you see him stealing packages, make sure to let the dispatcher know that he is not wearing a mask for a robust response.

Danish Police Arrest Terror Suspect in Copenhagen

Danish police on Thursday carried out a raid in Copenhagen and arrested a man suspected of involvement in Islamist terrorism. The man is suspected under the country’s terror laws and will face a pretrial custody hearing on Friday behind closed doors. The suspect was not identified.
