JEM: Apart but Together

In 1970, a group of enterprising Yeshiva students set up a broadcast of the Rebbe’s Farbrengen to be heard live in Israel.

The initiative grew over the years, eventually broadcasting audio, and later video, of the Rebbe’s Farbrengens to over 600 locations around the world. These videos became the basis for a new Chabad organization in the 1980s, Jewish Educational Media (JEM).
